About Troop 9

Introduction - We have an active program run by the boys, but with much support from the adults. The Scouts organized their own patrols, with elected patrol leaders and a senior patrol leader. We go camping, hiking, canoeing, or caving more or less once a month, 12 months a year. Our program is active year round!

Scoutmaster Greg Ubelhor Scoutmaster - Our Scoutmaster is John M. Bruce. He can be reached by phone at (317)356-0328 or by e-mail at scoutmaster@troop9bsa.org.

Meeting Place and Time - We meet on Monday nights at 7:00pm at Irvington United Methodist Church, 30 N. Audubon Road, on the east side of Indianapolis, Indiana.
(map).

Scout Uniform Uniform - The official "class A" uniform consists of a scout shirt belt, and pants of course. Troop 9 does not wear neckerchiefs. The headgear is optional as well, but when it is worn, the hat needs to be a "Scouting" hat. The preferred hat is the baseball style Boy Scout hat.

Dues - There is $1.00 of dues every week that we have a regular meeting. There are no dues for Court of Honor nights, or the week of summer camp. Dues pay for things like awards and other miscellaneous expenses.

Trail's End Popcorn Fund Raising - The only fund raising activity that Troop 9 does is Boy Scout "Trail's End" Popcorn. The profits from the popcorn are split 50/50 between the scouts and the troop. Every year several scouts pay for all or part of summer camp with money they have earned from popcorn profits.
